PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering & design services in the utilities sector. We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our engineering teams in multiple locations. The role involves leading transmission projects across North America, including significant ECI & EPC projects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in power/transmission systems, with comprehensive knowledge of industry codes and standards. You'll be responsible for conceptual engineering design, analysis, and calculations for proposed projects, as well as reviewing and sealing engineering deliverables for overhead and underground transmission projects.
Key responsibilities include overseeing PLS-CADD/TOWER/POLE models, developing specifications, leading capital projects, and providing mentorship to team members. Responsibilities For Senior Transmission Lines Design Engineer
- Lead the design and engineering execution of transmission projects
- Interpret codes, standards and client requirements for design criteria documents
- Oversee PLS-CADD / TOWER / POLE models
- Develop scopes of work, material specifications, and construction specifications
- Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced staff
- Lead capital projects development
- Manage and track cost and schedule of engineering deliverables
- Coordinate with other discipline teams
- Prepare proposals including cost and budget estimates
- Perform site investigations and field reviews
- Review and seal final design prints
Requirements For Senior Transmission Lines Design Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical engineering
- Licensed as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience
- Knowledge of codes and industry standards (CEC, CSA, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, ANSI, NEMA)
- Experience in industrial and/or utilities projects
- Proficient in PLS software suite
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
