Description For Principal Electrical Engineer

Phoenix Tailings is pioneering the future of sustainable mining and metals production as a rapidly-growing clean technology startup. The company is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to spearhead their electrical systems design and implementation efforts for critical metals production processes.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability and advanced engineering, where you'll lead the development of electrical systems for innovative industrial processes. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing complex electrical architectures, from high-voltage power distribution to sophisticated instrumentation and control systems.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience, with a strong background in power systems, automation, and safety protocols. You'll need to demonstrate not just technical excellence, but also leadership capabilities, as you'll be mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across multiple teams.

The position offers significant growth potential within a venture-backed company that's scaling rapidly. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in sustainable metals production, making a direct impact on the future of clean mining. The company provides comprehensive benefits, including full medical coverage, equity participation, and a flexible work culture that values results over rigid schedules.

This role is perfect for an experienced electrical engineer who is passionate about sustainability, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants to be part of transforming the mining industry. You'll be joining a values-driven organization that encourages innovation, compassion, and resourcefulness, working alongside top innovators in the field.

The position is based in Burlington, MA, requiring on-site presence to effectively manage and implement electrical systems. If you're excited about combining your electrical engineering expertise with sustainable technology development, while leading and mentoring others, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the clean technology sector.
