Responsibilities For Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

  • Lead selection, specification, and design of instrumentation systems
  • Oversee design and optimization of control systems
  • Manage installation, calibration, and maintenance of systems
  • Identify and implement system upgrades
  • Provide expert guidance on instrumentation strategies
  • Lead and mentor engineers
  • Partner with R&D, process engineering, and operations teams
  • Direct complex instrumentation and controls projects
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies

Requirements For Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in instrumentation and control systems in chemical/process environments
  • Advanced proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Expertise in HMI/SCADA development, particularly Ignition
  • Strong background in complex instrumentation systems
  • Familiarity with process control strategies for chemical systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong ability to work across teams
