Responsibilities For Production Support Engineer

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing production software issues
  • Developing and owning monitoring solutions for production and non-production environments
  • Develop smaller complexity features / enhancements in existing stable system components
  • Adapt installer, shell scripts and perl scripts and automate manual tasks
  • Provide feedback from customer users to the team
  • Maintain on-going record of problem analysis and resolution activity

Requirements For Production Support Engineer

Python
MySQL
Java
Ruby
  • Good exposure to MySQL and complex SQL queries
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, perl, shell script)
  • Experience in fast paced production support environment
  • Programming experience in any language (C++/Java/RubyOnRails is a plus)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Experience in e-commerce or web services domain is a plus
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Understanding of business problems and solutions
  • Exposure to Hadoop, Hive queries is an advantage
