Description For System Delivery Engineer

PhonePe is India's leading digital payments company with 500 Million registered users and 37 Million merchants covering over 99% of the postal codes across India. The company has expanded into financial services (Insurance, Mutual Funds, Stock Broking, and Lending) as well as adjacent tech-enabled businesses such as Pincode for hyperlocal shopping and Indus App Store.

As a System Delivery Engineer at PhonePe, you'll be working on:

  • Linux/Unix Administration
  • Networking
  • Open source technologies/tools and cloud services
  • IT operations for always-up, always-available services
  • On-call rotation
  • Linux networking (ip, iptables, ipsec)
  • MySQL
  • Automation/configuration management using saltstack or equivalent
  • Private and public cloud environments

Additional skills that would be beneficial:

  • Implementation of cloud services on linux using kvm/qemu
  • DCOS (mesos & mesos frameworks)
  • Aerospike (nosql)
  • Perl/Golang
  • Galera
  • OpenBSD
  • Data center related activities (rarely needed)

Responsibilities For System Delivery Engineer

  • Manage and administer Linux/Unix systems
  • Handle networking tasks and configurations
  • Work with various open source technologies and cloud services
  • Ensure high availability and uptime for services
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Implement and manage Linux networking configurations
  • Work with MySQL databases
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts
  • Manage private and public cloud environments

Requirements For System Delivery Engineer

  • Knowledge in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Knowledge in networking
  • Experience with open source technologies/tools and cloud services
  • Understanding of best practices and IT operations for always-up, always-available services
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
  • Good English communication skills
  • Strong background in Linux networking (ip, iptables, ipsec)
  • Knowledge of working with MySQL
  • Working understanding of code and script (e.g., Perl/Golang preferred)
  • Knowledge of automation/configuration management using saltstack or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience in private and public cloud environments
