Description For Network Support Engineer

As a Network Support Engineer at Pilot, you'll be part of a passionate, close-knit team dedicated to enabling extraordinary work across all industries with adaptive and agile connectivity solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting networking, routing, and connectivity problems
  • Responding to customer support escalations and service outages
  • Communicating directly with customers to address their needs
  • Provisioning connectivity services
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for complex network issues
  • Collaborating with other teams to resolve customer issues
  • Performing on-site customer visits for troubleshooting and equipment installation
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for processes and configurations
  • Participating in after-hours on-call rotation

We're looking for candidates with:

  • 2+ years in a similar support engineering role with customer-facing experience
  • Knowledge of IP routing protocols and DHCPv4/v6 servers
  • Experience with SNMP-based monitoring/graphing systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively

Linux
  • 2+ years in a similar support engineering role with customer-facing experience
  • Knowledge of IP routing protocols (ISIS/BGP/OSPF/MPLS)
  • Experience with DHCPv4/v6 servers
  • Experience using SNMP-based monitoring/graphing systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take part in escalation rotations weekly and availability for off-hours work
  • Comfort with frequent travel via mass-transit to sites in NYC
