Experienced Software Engineer - Product

Plaid is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer - Product to join their Europe team, which operates as a start-up within Plaid. The role involves developing Europe-specific payments and credit products to expand Plaid's global footprint. As a member of this team, you'll have a significant opportunity to shape Plaid's direction and strategy in Europe.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and improve Europe-specific payments and credit products
• Building frameworks and tooling to ensure Plaid has the most resilient and highest-performing integrations with European banks
• Working with engineering and product teams across Plaid to localize new and existing global Plaid products for the European market
• Partnering with other teams across Plaid, including Product, Design, and Data Science
• Deeply understanding client needs and architecting solutions tailored to their use cases
• Owning and leading projects, participating in on-call rotations, advocating for technical and process changes, and mentoring junior engineers

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience as a product engineer working full-stack (backend-leaning)
• Excellent coding and testing skills
• Experience working with large scale backend systems
• Experience as a project lead, working with other engineers and cross-functional teams
• Nice to have: Experience working on payments products or in the payments space
• Nice to have: Experience working with Open Banking APIs
