Platform Science, founded in 2015, is revolutionizing the transportation industry with its open IoT platform. We're seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our innovative team. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of our multi-platform software products, including web, API, and mobile applications.
As a Sr. SDET, you'll work closely with Software Developers, leveraging shift-left methods to understand our complex domain and products. You'll be responsible for developing automated Functional Integration tests, end-to-end tests, and utilizing test frameworks for system testing in an Agile environment. The position offers substantial decision-making authority and operates under limited supervision.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of test automation experience with Python and/or JavaScript, along with expertise in testing web applications, APIs, and Android mobile applications. You should have a strong background in implementing testing standards, mentoring other SDETs, and conducting load and performance testing. Experience with MySQL/Postgres databases is essential.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
- Tests complex API, web and mobile based applications
- Creates and maintains automated test cases
- Designs, develops, maintains automated test suites through continuous integration
- Works with engineering teams to derive testing requirements
- Reproduces, debugs, and isolates problems and verify fixes
- Creates software artifacts including test plans and procedures
- Works cross functional areas in disciplined agile environment
- Provides technical guidance and training to junior test personnel
- Participates in non-functional testing and analysis
Requirements For Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
- 5+ years experience writing test automation code (Python and/or Javascript)
- Experience setting and implementing testing standards
- Experience developing/mentoring other SDETs
- Experience testing web applications and APIs
- Experience testing Android mobile applications
- Experience writing end-to-end tests across platforms
- Experience conducting load and performance testing
- Experience with MySQL and/or Postgres DBs
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Good technical foundation with ability to adapt quickly
