Description For Site Reliability Engineer

PointClickCare is a leading North American healthcare technology platform with over 20 years of experience in creating cloud-based healthcare software. As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on the Infrastructure SRE team, you'll be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient systems at scale across multiple cloud service providers.

The role focuses on applying SRE practices to operations at scale, including monitoring service level objectives, establishing KPIs, and driving automation initiatives. You'll work with Infrastructure as Code principles to manage multi-cloud environments and collaborate with security engineers on risk management.

The Infrastructure SRE Team specializes in cloud-based solutions, bringing expertise in programming languages and configuration management tools. You'll be part of a team that supports a wide range of technologies and production services, working to improve resiliency, efficiency, and performance of PointClickCare's products.

Responsibilities For Site Reliability Engineer

  • Provide technical guidance and support for technologies and services
  • Create and maintain monitoring technologies and processes
  • Drive and implement strategies to reduce toil and improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with security engineers on risk and vulnerability management
  • Contribute to technical training events and game day scenarios
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation

Requirements For Site Reliability Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or related discipline
  • Prior relevant software development/architecture experience
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, AKS/EKS)
  • Experience building and supporting cloud-native solutions in multiple cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Proficiency in programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby)
  • Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools
  • Strong knowledge of Windows (2019/2022) and Linux administration
