Responsibilities For Project Engineer, Underground

  • Assist in monitoring project planning, execution and closure
  • Assist with permit applications and scheduling inspections
  • Establish and maintain project management files and document control
  • Research, acquire and collate submittals and Operations & Maintenance manual materials
  • Track incoming and outgoing submittals
  • Maintain drawing sets and post updates
  • Coordinate, log and file project correspondence
  • Assist in creating and monitoring field installation work packages
  • Assist with implementing and entering Purchase Orders
  • Assist in estimating and tracking Potential Change Orders
  • Assist in writing and tracking Requests for Information
  • Assist with job billing preparation
  • Attend regular project status meetings

Requirements For Project Engineer, Underground

  • Degree in Construction Management or STEM and/or 2 years underground construction industry experience
  • Experience with software-based estimating, accounting, scheduling and project management systems
  • Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principals
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and as a team member
  • Must be capable of performing or learning estimating for job change orders
