Description For Principal Software Engineer

Protegrity, a leading provider of data protection solutions, is seeking a passionate and self-driven Principal Software Engineer to join their team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, development, and feature design/implementation in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience in developing & integrating scalable systems solutions, with expertise in systems programming and architecture concepts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Continuous development, enhancement, and maintenance of existing and new products/features
  • Applying software development methods, standards, and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes
  • Participating in Agile practices as an individual contributor and team player
  • Adapting to learn and enhance skills in data security and the product's technical environment
  • Reviewing work of peer engineers/juniors while being an individual contributor
  • Collaborating within and across teams for technical requirements and product module dependencies

Required qualifications:

  • 8+ years post-bachelor's degree experience as a software engineer
  • Mastery of computer science concepts and programming in C/C++
  • Experience with Linux OS and Shell Scripting
  • Proficiency with compiler and software build tools
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and profiling skills
  • Understanding of networking protocols, multithreaded and parallel computing
  • Knowledge of software security requirements and associated standards
