Pure Storage is seeking a full-time Senior Hardware Engineer to join their Hardware Development Team. This role involves working cross-functionally with Engineering, JDM Partners, Operations, and Support & Escalation Teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, validation, qualification, and failure analysis of Pure's storage subsystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing hardware design and qualification projects
- Participating in all phases of the product development cycle
- Defining and automating hardware validation and qualification tests
- Writing functional specifications, test plans, and reports
- Performing schematic capture and signal integrity analysis
- Working with x86 architecture and major bus technologies
- Analyzing and reviewing device and system-level power, cooling, and electrical functionality
- Improving design and qualification processes
- Setting up and running system stress tests
- Qualifying CPU subsystems and introducing new storage sub-systems into production
- Performing failure and root cause analysis
- Mentoring junior engineers
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Masters with 7+ years or Bachelors with 10+ years of experience)
- Strong knowledge of hardware design, x86 architectures, and interfaces
- Experience with scripting languages and test development
- Understanding of Verilog and CPLD design
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Pure Storage offers a competitive salary range of $187,000 – $281,000, along with potential incentive pay and equity.
