Site Reliability Engineer, ISS

Pure Storage is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for their ISS (Infrastructure Shared Service) team in Prague, Czech Republic. This role is crucial in improving the reliability and performance of Pure Storage's critical infrastructure applications. The ideal candidate will have a mix of software and systems skills, with a passion for reliability, performance, and efficiency.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, operating, and maintaining enterprise systems such as databases, message queues, APIs, and distributed applications. You'll use data and metrics like SLOs and error budgets to manage these systems effectively. The role involves establishing sustainable incident response practices, supporting services before they go live, and scaling systems through automation.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Troubleshooting and maintaining enterprise systems
2. Implementing blameless postmortems to prevent problem recurrence
3. Conducting system design, capacity planning, and launch reviews
4. Developing software platforms and frameworks
5. Collaborating across business units and time zones

Requirements for this position include:

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure engineer
• Strong coding skills in languages like C, C++, Java, Python, or Go
• Experience with Unix/Linux systems and Infrastructure as Code tools
• Familiarity with containers and orchestration systems like Docker and Kubernetes
• Ability to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
