Kubernetes Platform Engineer, Staff Level

Qualcomm IT is seeking a Kubernetes generalist for their Cork, Ireland office to join their mature and experienced team of Kubernetes platform administrators. The role involves working with bare-metal on-prem and cloud-based multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters using Rancher, with distributions including RKE (on-prem) and GKE, EKS, AKS (cloud).

Key responsibilities include constructing, deploying, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters, monitoring performance and availability, and performing capacity planning. The role offers growth opportunities through project work and mentoring, with potential projects including implementation of self-healing system automation, testing and deployment of new Kubernetes versions, and implementation of novel multi-tenancy patterns.

The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of Linux system administration experience, 2+ years of Kubernetes administration experience, and advanced proficiency in tools like Kustomize, Helm, Docker, and Git. Knowledge of Kubernetes networking internals and control plane architecture is crucial.
