Description For ASICS Design Engineer, Up to Staff Level

Qualcomm Semiconductor Limited is seeking an ASICS Design Engineer to join their team in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. This role focuses on the development of ARM/RISC-V architecture-based complex CPU subsystems in a dynamic, consumer-oriented environment where both time-to-market and quality are crucial.

The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge CPU subsystem development, including feature enhancement, micro-architecture design, and RTL development. You'll be responsible for integrating CPU and other IPs into the subsystem, managing design delivery processes for complex multi-voltage power domains, and participating in post-silicon bring-up and debug activities.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of design development experience, with strong knowledge of computer architecture and ASIC design flow. Expertise in ARM/MIPS/x86 CPU subsystem micro-architecture, ARM AMBA bus specifications, and caching schemes is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities For ASICS Design Engineer, Up to Staff Level

  • CPU sub-system feature enhancement, micro-architecture, and RTL development
  • Integration of CPU and other relevant IPs into the CPU sub-system
  • Design delivery process ownership and co-ordination for complex multi-voltage, power domain sub-system
  • Enablement of verification, constraint reviews and implementation improvement
  • Involvement of post-silicon bring up and debug

Requirements For ASICS Design Engineer, Up to Staff Level

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Good knowledge of computer architecture, ASIC design flow and DV methodologies
  • Experience in using tools including simulation systems, verdi, and Linting etc.
  • Familiar with static timing analysis, CDC, DFT and mbist
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Good communicator in verbal and writing in English
  • 5+ years of design development experience
  • Experience with ARM/MIPS/x86 CPU subsystem micro-architecture and design
  • Knowledge of ARM AMBA (CHI/ACE/AXI/AHB/APB) bus specifications
  • Understanding of ARM or RISC-V Architecture for cores and interrupt controller
  • Experience with L1, L2 or L3 caching schemes
