Description For Automotive Functional Safety Software Manager (Staff Engineer)

Qualcomm's ADAS/Autonomy team is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead SoC BSP software-level functional safety management. This role combines technical leadership with safety compliance expertise in the automotive domain.

The position involves leading critical safety management initiatives for SoC BSP software, ensuring compliance with ISO26262 standards, and managing safety-related execution across multiple teams. You'll work at the intersection of complex embedded systems and automotive safety standards, making crucial decisions that impact vehicle safety and reliability.

As a Staff Engineer, you'll be responsible for deploying safety processes, leading safety activities for ADAS/AD software, and working closely with various stakeholders including customers, architects, and test/integration teams. Responsibilities For Automotive Functional Safety Software Manager (Staff Engineer)

  • Lead SoC BSP SW level functional safety management
  • Deploy safety process for development of safety compliant software
  • Lead safety-related execution to achieve required safety compliance
  • Interact with customers, architects and test/integration teams
  • Work with Software quality team for ISO26262 and ASPICE processes adherence

Requirements For Automotive Functional Safety Software Manager (Staff Engineer)

Linux
  • 10+ years of industry experience in embedded software, especially in automotive domain
  • Minimum 4 years experience in ISO26262 (Part 6 in specific)
  • Experience in Safety Analysis (FMEA, DFA, FTA)
  • Experience in leading safety activities of complex SoC software
  • Experience in leading safety activities for ADAS/AD software
  • Good understanding of SoC architecture, ARM architecture, SoC Peripherals
  • Programming expertise in C/C++
  • Experience with complete SDLC and related processes
  • Knowledge of ASPICE/ISO26262 quality standards
