Description For Automotive Platform Engineer

Qualcomm's ADAS/Autonomy team is seeking an Automotive Platform Engineer to join their innovative team in Bangalore. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive technology solutions, focusing on DSP, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms for ADAS/Autonomy SoCs.

The position requires expertise in system and SoC software-level functional safety concepts, with a strong emphasis on ISO26262 software processes. You'll be responsible for defining safety concepts and architecture, software safety requirements, and developing safety software. The role involves significant interaction with customers, architects, and test/integration teams.

As an Automotive Platform Engineer, you'll work with both local and global teams to implement automotive-specific features, including software enablement (drivers/BSP/RTOS/AUTOSAR MCAL), security, functional safety, and power management for current and next-generation SoCs. You'll be responsible for coordinating and executing validation plans, addressing technical challenges through root-cause analysis, and implementing solutions.

The ideal candidate should have 3-6 years of embedded software development experience, strong programming skills in C and Assembly, and familiarity with RTOS and multi-processor concepts. Experience with automotive software development, ISO26262 functional safety standards, and ASPICE processes is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Automotive Platform Engineer

  • Work with local and global teams to implement Automotive specific features
  • Software enablement including drivers/BSP/RTOS/AUTOSAR MCAL
  • Implement security and functional safety features
  • Coordinate and execute validation plans
  • Root-cause analysis and providing detailed corrective actions
  • Automation of design under test
  • Work closely with design/production/bench IP teams

Requirements For Automotive Platform Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3-6 years of Embedded Software Development experience
  • Strong C and Assembly Programming with OS & Multi-Processor concepts
  • Experience in embedded software development in C and C++ on ARM or similar cores
  • Experience with RTOS development
  • Good debugging skills with Lauterbach JTAG debuggers
  • Automotive SW development experience
  • Knowledge of hardware blocks (SPI/I2C/UART/CAN/Ethernet/Clock/etc)
  • Experience in ISO26262/functional safety and ASPICE is highly desirable
