Description For Automotive SW Architect: Senior Staff

Qualcomm is building on its core strengths in wireless and compute technologies and is in the middle of the biggest technology revolution in the Automotive space. While Qualcomm has pioneered connected car technologies for over a decade, it is now playing a critical role in the evolution of Automotive Infotainment, Telematics, ADAS/Autonomous Driving & its supporting technologies. We are investing in several bleeding-edge technologies such as 5G, Cellular V2X, Computer Vision, AI/Deep Learning, etc., and are working closely with global Automakers/Tier-1s, standards bodies, consortiums, and operators on pushing the boundaries.

The Qualcomm Automotive Team is looking for a Senior Technical Lead who can make a difference on many technology forefronts in the Automotive space. This role involves:

  • Technical design and implementation of ADAS and AD systems based on Qualcomm Snapdragon Autonomous/ADAS SoCs and HW platforms.
  • Close collaboration with domain experts across SoC/Hardware, Firmware, Safety, Security, and Algorithms to define functional specifications, design modular software components, interaction models, interfaces, resource management, and debugging tools.
  • Leading system-level profiling and optimization of end-to-end use-cases, identifying and addressing bottlenecks across heterogeneous computational units.
  • Active engagement with OS and Framework vendors, Automotive OEMs, Tier-1s, and ISVs to implement solutions based on Qualcomm Automotive platforms.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 20+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • At least 15+ years of experience in Automotive engineering
  • Strong understanding of QNX/Linux operating systems and hands-on experience with device driver development
  • 10+ years of experience in ADAS Driving Functions, Firmware, and Embedded Systems design and development
  • Experience in defining business strategies and creating roadmaps for the ADAS Segment
  • Strong knowledge of automated driving and advanced driver assistance system features
  • Experience with Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS)
  • Ability to lead and direct a large group of technical employees
  • Experience in driving key POCs, including Parking Stack bring-up on multiple SoCs and in-vehicle platforms

  • Collaborate with domain experts to define functional specifications, design modular software components, and interaction models
  • Lead system-level profiling and optimization of end-to-end use-cases
  • Engage with OS and Framework vendors, Automotive OEMs, Tier-1s, and ISVs to implement solutions
  • Lead, guide, and direct a large group of technical employees
  • Manage engineering execution of team related to Vehicle Development Process deliverables
  • Provide technical leadership to work team and interact cross-functionally
  • Lead team on new methods or initiatives without defined procedures
  • Drive key POCs, including Parking Stack bring-up on multiple SoCs and in-vehicle platforms

Requirements For Automotive SW Architect: Senior Staff

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience OR Master's degree and 5+ years of experience OR PhD and 4+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of work experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • 20+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • 15+ years of experience in Automotive engineering
  • 15+ years of industry experience in embedded software, especially in the automotive domain
  • Strong understanding of QNX/Linux operating system and hands-on experience with QNX/Linux device driver development
  • 10+ years of experience in ADAS Driving Functions, Firmware, and Embedded Systems design and development
  • Experience in defining business strategies and creating roadmaps for the ADAS Segment
  • Hands-on experience in ADAS function development & validation
  • Strong knowledge of automated driving and advanced driver assistance system features
  • Experience with ADAS DMS (Driver Monitoring System)
