CPU Design Verification - Staff Engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a CPU Design Verification - Staff Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. This role is part of the Hardware Engineering group and focuses on power management verification for CPU designs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying various aspects of power management, including boot, reset, clock gating, power gating, voltage/frequency management, limit management, and throttling. They will work closely with design and verification teams within the CPU group to develop comprehensive test plans and execute them using simulation and formal verification methodologies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing test plans for power management verification
• Writing checkers, assertions, and developing stimulus for verification
• Verifying power intent using methodologies like UPF
• Collaborating with system architects, software teams, and SoC teams to validate system use cases
• Working with emulation teams to enable verification on emulators and FPGA platforms
• Debugging and triaging failures in simulation, emulation, and/or Silicon

The ideal candidate should have:

• BE/BTech degree in CS/EE with 8+ years of experience
• Strong experience in power management verification
• Implementation skills in assembly and C language embedded firmware
• Proficiency in C/C++, scripting languages, Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Deep understanding of power management features in CPUs and CPU-based SoCs
• Experience in verifying power management features such as clock gating, power gating, UPF, DVFS/DCVS, reliability, and throttling

Preferred qualifications include:

• Good understanding of CPU architectures and micro-architectures
• In-depth knowledge of digital logic design, microprocessor, debug features, and DFT architecture
• Experience with advanced verification techniques such as formal methods and assertions
• Knowledge of DFT and structural debug concepts (JTAG, IEEE1500, MBIST, scan dump, memory dump)
