Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a talented Staff-level CPU RTL Power Design Engineer to join their team in Bangalore. This role focuses on all key aspects of CPU power modeling and analysis, and RTL power estimation and optimization of high-performance energy efficient CPU designs.
The position requires a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in CPU RTL power modeling and estimation. You'll be responsible for creating comprehensive CPU power models, identifying early power targets, and achieving correlation with physical design. The role involves working closely with architecture, RTL, verification, and physical design teams to optimize power at various stages of the design process.
Key responsibilities include analyzing RTL power for CPU modules using tools like PowerArtist, building automation scripts using Python/Perl, and analyzing complex HW throttling mechanisms to achieve peak CPU performance within EDP, TDP, and peak current limits. You'll need deep understanding of CPU or ASIC low power design, including expertise in active and Idle power optimization and RTL clock gating techniques.
The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, strong knowledge of Verilog/VHDL, and experience with low-power simulation tools. You should possess excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
