Description For Digital Design Engineer

Qualcomm Atheros, Inc. is seeking a talented Digital Design Engineer to join our innovative team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of wireless technology development, specifically focusing on WiFi functionality and ASIC hardware design.

In this position, you'll be instrumental in designing and testing advanced WiFi functionalities, including OFDM and OFDMA modulators and demodulators, transmit beamforming, and RF impairment correction. You'll work closely with algorithm and systems teams to implement complex designs using SystemC/C++ for High-Level Synthesis, ensuring optimal area and power targets are met.

Responsibilities For Digital Design Engineer

  • Work with WiFi algorithm and systems team to design and test advanced WiFi functionalities
  • Convert finite-precision models into ASIC hardware using SystemC/C++
  • Develop unit-level and integrated-level test-benches
  • Debug designs in stand-alone and integrated systems
  • Perform synthesis and gate-level timing tasks
  • Conduct design quality checks including lint, CDC and low power rule checks
  • Perform RTL-level and gate-level vector-based power analysis

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 6+ years experience
  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science preferred
  • Experience with architecture and design tools
