Hardware Engineer, Principal/Director

Qualcomm's Government Technologies (QGOV) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. As a Hardware Engineer, you will support government-sponsored research, development, integration and test of such systems, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts.

You will work on a variety of projects crossing multiple disciplines from across the company to deliver timely results to Customers. Responsibilities include working closely with other engineering disciplines to design, develop, test, automate, and document communication capabilities.

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 2+ years of work experience with RTL/FPGA design (Verilog) and embedded system architecture
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance

Preferred qualifications:

• SystemVerilog expertise across design and verification
• Knowledge of communication protocols (AXI4-x, TileLink, DDRx, PCIe, etc.)
• Experience with chip-level functional model building, simulation environments, and debug methodologies
• Proficiency with Xilinx Vivado tools, static timing analysis, and timing closure
• Experience with chisel-based digital design, Firesim/Chipyard frameworks, and verilator simulations
• Scripting skills (Python, Tcl) and familiarity with Git/Gerrit
• Linux proficiency and some C/C++ programming experience
• PCB design experience (Mentor Xpedition tools)
• Hands-on experience with debugging tools (JTAG) and lab equipment

The role offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $270,000, plus benefits including annual bonus, RSU grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
