We seek a Systems Security Engineer with experience in hardware security platforms and trusted execution environments. This position requires a strong understanding of hardware security primitives, as well as security architecture and protocols for hardware security platforms such as secure ICs (e.g. secure elements/smartcards), security subsystems and trusted execution environments (e.g., TrustZone, SGX).
The candidate is expected to drive alignment and directly participate in key security initiatives including threat analysis, secure systems architecture and protocols development as well as standardization work with a focus on hardware security platforms. The candidate is expected to develop technical contributions and deliver high quality presentations to promote adoption of designs and features in standards/industry foras such as (depending on the specific project) CEN-CENELEC, ETSI, GSMA, Eurosmart, Global Platform, C2PA, Fido Alliance, and others.
Attendance to relevant standards/industry working groups with specific focus on security technologies may be part of the role. Consequently, the candidate is expected to be available to occasionally travel for week-long meetings (on average 4 to 6 meetings per year are to be expected, distributed between Europe, North America and Asia).
The candidate will operate in collaboration with different business units within the company, including research projects and product teams across Qualcomm. The candidate will work in an exciting environment with a team of some of the brightest systems and security experts in the industry and will have frequent interaction with other engineering disciplines.
Qualcomm is flexible on location and open to hiring anywhere in Europe, with preferred countries being Italy or Spain.
