Description For CPU Physical Verification Engineer - (Lead/Staff)

Qualcomm, a global leader in technology innovation, is seeking a CPU Physical Verification Engineer at the Lead/Staff level to join their hardware engineering team. This role represents a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of semiconductor technology and chip design.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 6+ years of experience in physical verification and hard macro/core finishing activities. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in physical verification workflows, including DRC, ERC, LVS, DFM, Antenna, and PERC checks, primarily using Calibre tools. They should have a comprehensive understanding of ESD and latch-up phenomena, as well as experience with modern PnR tools like ICC/Innovus.

As a Lead/Staff Engineer, you'll be responsible for owning and executing physical verification activities at both top and block levels, working closely with physical design teams to resolve verification issues, and collaborating with CAD teams to optimize existing methodologies. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge semiconductor design challenges and the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across Qualcomm's global operations.

Responsibilities For CPU Physical Verification Engineer - (Lead/Staff)

  • Lead and be primarily responsible for physical verification checks, fixing and sign-off
  • Own and execute PV activities at the Top/Block level
  • Work closely with PD team in addressing PV issues and suggest solutions
  • Work with CAD team in refining existing flows/methodologies
  • IO, Bump planning and RDL routing Strategy
  • Develop and implement timing and logic ECOs
  • Plan and work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams

Requirements For CPU Physical Verification Engineer - (Lead/Staff)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 3+ years experience
  • 6+ years experience in Implementation with emphasis on Physical Verification & Hard macro/core finishing activities
  • Experience in physical verification checks DRC, LVS, Antenna, ERC, PERC, ESD etc.
  • Deep understanding of ESD, latch-up etc.
  • Experience in PnR tools like ICC/Innovus
  • Understanding of PDK Concepts, SVRF, Calibre and ICV
  • Good understanding of layouts and overall backend tool flow
  • TCL/PERL Scripting knowledge
