Description For Observability/Monitoring Tools Engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking an Observability/Monitoring Tools Engineer to join their DevOps team. This role focuses on providing technical expertise and support for internal partners during their observability platform onboarding process. The position requires a strong background in infrastructure monitoring tools and network monitoring portfolio.

The ideal candidate will work closely with various teams to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure supporting IT observability of critical applications. Key responsibilities include managing log collection services, operational metrics, and distributed tracing, while also providing high-level support and participating in incident response.

Requirements include a BS in Computer Science or related field, 3+ years of DevOps monitoring experience, and proficiency with major monitoring platforms. The role demands expertise in systems administration, modern infrastructure, and cloud services. Experience with Python/JavaScript and ability to work across global time zones is preferred.

Responsibilities For Observability/Monitoring Tools Engineer

  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain infrastructure and software to support IT observability of critical applications
  • Support internal partners with environment questions and troubleshooting
  • Manage services for log collection, operational metrics, distributed tracing
  • Provide Tier 3/4 on-call support
  • Participate in incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Automate systems for sustainable scaling and improved reliability

Requirements For Observability/Monitoring Tools Engineer

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience with DevOps monitoring or architecture tools
  • Experience with monitoring platforms like Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, NewRelic, Network Monitoring, SCOM, Pagerduty
  • Systems administration experience in Windows or Linux
  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers
  • Experience with Python/JavaScript (preferred)
  • Ability to work with global teams across time zones (preferred)
