As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate answers to customer inquiries under the guidance of experienced peers
- Help customers with device performance tuning and Software optimization
- Assist in publishing product technical documentation
- Demonstrate Qualcomm products and offerings to customers
- Provide support to customers/distributors with the design, development, and debug of Qualcomm software-related issues
- Work closely with external customers and internal teams for problem-solving
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of Software development experience in wireless, telecommunications, semiconductor industry, or Android device Performance tuning
- Experience in C/C++/Java programming or mobile platform performance tuning/optimization
- Good understanding of Linux scheduler and CPU Governor
- Good understanding of ARM SOC
- Strong experience in Android Performance tuning
- Strong understanding of Android and Linux Performance profiling tools
- Good understanding of Android Framework
- Familiar with Python/Perl or other script languages
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work on resolving customer-reported technical problems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience in mobile Game performance tuning or Camera performance tuning
- Good understanding of Linux Memory Management, I/O performance, and/or Gfx performance
