Description For Physical Design Engineer

Qualcomm, a leading technology innovator, is seeking a Physical Design Engineer to join their team in Bangalore. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology innovation in electronic systems design and optimization.

As a Physical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for planning, designing, optimizing, and testing electronic systems, with a particular focus on high-speed cores and timing signoff. You'll work independently on RTL to GDSII implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring 2-4 years of experience in Physical Design and timing signoff for high-speed cores, along with a strong understanding of high-frequency design convergence and PDN methodology. You'll need expertise in leading block level or chip level Physical Design activities and a deep understanding of low power flow and deep sub-micron design challenges.

Responsibilities For Physical Design Engineer

  • Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems
  • Work independently in RTL to GDSII implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions
  • Handle technical deliveries with a small team of engineers
  • Collaborate and resolve issues related to constraints validation, verification, STA, Physical design

Requirements For Physical Design Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 2-4 years experience in Physical Design and timing signoff for high speed cores
  • Good exposure to high frequency design convergence for physical design with PPA targets and PDN methodology
  • Experience in leading block level or chip level Physical Design, STA and PDN activities
  • Knowledge of low power flow (power gating, multi-Vt flow, power supply management etc.)
  • Circuit level comprehension of time critical paths
  • Understanding of deep sub-micron design problems and solutions
  • Tcl/Perl scripting skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
