Description For Physical Design - Lead engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Physical Design Lead Engineer to join their Hardware Engineering team in Chennai. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in physical implementation and design optimization. The position requires expertise in floor-planning, place and route, timing closure, and power optimization for complex systems.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience and strong technical skills in physical design implementation using industry-standard tools like Synopsys ICC2 and Cadence Innovus. You'll be working on PPA critical Cores, making crucial trade-off decisions, and ensuring optimal timing convergence for high-frequency data-path intensive designs.

Requirements For Physical Design - Lead engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Physical Implementation activities including Floor-planning, Place and Route, CTS
  • Expertise in timing convergence of high frequency data-path intensive Cores
  • Experience with Synopsys ICC2/Cadence Innovus and timing convergence in PTSI/Tempus
  • Understanding of clocking architecture
  • Tcl/Perl Scripting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
