Description For Physical Design Methodology Engineer

Qualcomm, a leading technology innovator, is seeking a Physical Design Methodology Engineer to join their backend methodology team. This role combines hardware engineering expertise with software development, focusing on VLSI design and chip implementation. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, developing innovative solutions for chip implementation flow and addressing complex challenges in Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) scaling.

The role requires expertise in digital VLSI implementation, static timing analysis, and power distribution networks, along with programming skills in languages like Python, Perl, and TCL. You'll be working with state-of-the-art EDA tools and contributing to design automation, post-silicon debug, and data mining initiatives.

Responsibilities For Physical Design Methodology Engineer

  • Develop innovative solutions for Qualcomm's chip implementation flow
  • Address challenges with Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) scaling tradeoffs
  • Research and develop methods to improve efficiency of digital ASIC design flow
  • Work on chip quality/yield improvement
  • Handle design automation, post-silicon debug and data mining

Requirements For Physical Design Methodology Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 3+ years experience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 2+ years experience
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 1+ year experience
  • Coding skills in Python, Perl, TCL and/or C++
  • Working knowledge in Digital VLSI implementation
  • Experience with STA and Power Distribution Network (PDN)
  • Hands-on experience with EDA tools (Primetime, ICC2, Innovus, Tempus, etc.)
