Qualcomm's Power Management Systems, Validation & Integration team (PMIC-SVI) leads the industry in the System Architecture and Post-silicon Validation of high-performance feature-rich Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs), that are embedded in our Chipsets - for smartphones, tablets, laptops, and a variety of cutting-edge consumer electronics. This team gets to work on state-of-art technology to enable products with world's leading brands.
As a PMIC Systems Validation Engineer, Senior, you will be responsible for performing System-level Validation (VI) on a limited quantity of Post-Silicon (Post-Si) HW testbenches, ensuring high quality of PMIC-System Hardware (HW) & Firmware (FW) design-deliverables over a highly-complex & continuously-evolving product landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive VI-plans covering various user scenarios
- Identify individual granular test-cases & prepare execution steps within available test framework
- Run test-cases (manual & automated) from PMIC stand-alone IC-level to bigger Chipset/System-level testing
- Envision new test-cases and enhance validation-coverage via automating test-execution & results-validation
- Act as Point-of-Contact for PMIC-SVI team to various other teams
- Align & update test-procedures with changing PMIC-architecture & system-state flows
- Recreate issues, capture signals/logs for debugging, validate workarounds/fixes
- Assess confidence vs risk of validation-effort before PMIC-System solution is ready for commercial mass-production
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 0-3 years (Masters) of relevant job experience in Systems Validation role in VLSI/Embedded-Systems domain
- Industrial exposure to product-development via Systems Validation
- Strong hands-on lab-experience in Post-Si Validation of Mixed-signal (Analog/Digital) IP
- Experience in validating systems combining HW & FW (microcontroller based) is highly preferred
Skills Required:
- Hands-on ability with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, JTAG debuggers)
- Programming skills in C#, F#, Python, Perl, LabVIEW, or other scripting languages
- Understanding of digital and analog circuit design concepts
- Familiarity with HW schematics and PCB interconnections
- Good analytical & communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in automating test-cases via SW-control for HW-systems
- Experience in developing top-level test-plans and breaking them down to individual test cases
