Description For Power Delivery Network Engineer

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a talented Power Delivery Network Engineer to join their team. As the world leader in wireless chipsets and the largest fabless semiconductor company, Qualcomm offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology.

The role is part of the Qualcomm Data Center team, which is developing high-performance, energy-efficient server solutions for data center applications. You'll be working within the central hardware system (CHS) team, which has broad responsibilities including developing cutting-edge package technology and system-level power and signal integrity solutions.

As a Power Delivery Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing PDN solutions, conducting power integrity analysis, and working with various teams to implement and verify power delivery solutions. Your work will directly impact the performance of high-speed application processor cores, GPUs, and modems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and analyzing Power Distribution Network solutions
  • Conducting power integrity analysis for high-speed processors
  • Extracting PCB and PKG PDN parameters
  • Performing laboratory measurements in frequency and time domains
  • Defining bump and ball patterns and decoupling capacitance schemes
  • Collaborating with system designers and verification teams

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong educational background in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of ASIC design experience
  • Expertise in power integrity analysis and PDN design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with industry-standard design and verification tools
  • Excellent communication skills for working with senior leadership

Responsibilities For Power Delivery Network Engineer

  • Apply electrical design expertise to develop Power Distribution Network(PDN) solutions, perform simulation, analysis, and debug
  • Conduct power integrity analysis for high speed application processor cores and other cores including GPU/Modem
  • Extract PCB and PKG PDN parameters, such as resistance and inductance, using standard industry tools
  • Perform Lab measurements of PDN in frequency and time domains
  • Define bump and ball patterns and decoupling capacitance scheme
  • Work with system designers, design verification and physical design teams

Requirements For Power Delivery Network Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design experience
  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Experience with architecture and design tools
  • Experience with scripting tools and programming languages
  • Experience with design verification methods
  • Work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership
