Description For Senior Staff Engineer - PC Gaming Content Development

Qualcomm's in-house Game Studio is seeking an experienced engineer to develop high-end games and gaming technology showcases for Snapdragon-based products. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge pre-commercial portable devices and contribute to the future of gaming in always-on, always-connected Snapdragon PCs.

The position is a multi-disciplinary role where you will be responsible for developing new gaming content and porting existing games from other platforms. Additionally, you will work on optimizing CPU, GPU, and overall system performance of gaming content for Windows on Snapdragon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-end games and gaming technology showcases
  • Port existing games from other platforms
  • Optimize CPU, GPU, and overall system performance for Windows on Snapdragon
  • Work with cutting-edge pre-commercial portable devices
  • Contribute to the future of gaming on always-on, always-connected Snapdragon PCs

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Expertise in C/C++
  • Experience in game development domains such as Gameplay, Audio, UI, AI
  • Understanding of Game Engine Animation systems
  • Experience with Windows game development and optimization
  • Solid 3D graphics-related mathematics background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and creatively inspired

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing content with Unreal Engine or other 3D Game Engines
  • Familiarity with 3D graphics profilers and debuggers (RenderDoc, Pix, NSight, etc.)
  • Comfortable working with unfamiliar, large multi-million-line code bases
  • Experience optimizing applications for target hardware
  • At least one shipped title on any platform, showcasing product lifecycle knowledge

Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
