Description For Staff Digital Design Engineer

Qualcomm Technologies International Ltd is seeking a Staff Digital Design Engineer to join their Voice and Music Business Unit, a leading player in the wireless earbud, headset, and smart speaker market. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge low-power mixed-signal SOCs in Cambridge.

The position involves working alongside System architects, Verification, Validation and Software teams, focusing on complex digital block/sub-system architecture development. You'll be responsible for the complete work package lifecycle, from specification through delivery, including RTL design, integration, and verification of DSP and SoC components.

The ideal candidate brings 5-10 years of industry experience, with a strong background in digital design and verification. You'll need expertise in RTL coding, simulation, and timing closure, along with proficiency in various ASIC development tools. The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.

  • Ownership of complete work package from specification through to delivery
  • Design, integration and verification of RTL blocks including DSP, SoC and peripheral IP
  • Planning and management of project work
  • Definition of high-level specifications and micro-architecture for digital low power IPs

Requirements For Staff Digital Design Engineer

  • 5 - 10 years industry experience with Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering
  • Experience of complex digital block/sub-system architecture development
  • Hands-on design experience in low power digital IP
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication skills
  • RTL design in Verilog/System Verilog
  • Experience with EDA tools
  • Scripting skills on Linux, TCL and Perl/Python
