Description For Staff Hardware Customer Engineer

As a Qualcomm Hardware Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of hardware through trainings, product demonstrations, and the design, debug, test, and quality support of customer products. Qualcomm Hardware Application Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the potential application of company products that meet and exceed customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply Hardware Board Design Skills to customize Reference Designs (Schematic, Layout, eBOM) based on Customer Requests.
  • Provide technical expertise of hardware through trainings, product demonstrations, and support customer products based on Qualcomm chips.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customer personnel in assessing potential application of company products.
  • Own support for a technology and/or chipset area and recommend appropriate modifications and enhancements.
  • Proactively identify customer problems and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Write detailed technical documentation for complex Hardware Application projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of experience, or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
  • 2+ years of experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
  • Familiar with Principals of High Speed Signal Design including transmission lines, controlled impedance and EMI/EMC.
  • Familiar with interfaces such as LPDDR, MIPI, USB, PCIe, UFS.
  • Team Player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
  • 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $134,000 - $201,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including annual bonus, RSU grants, and various insurance options.
