Staff/Senior Staff Devops Engineer

As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. In this Staff/Senior Staff Devops Engineer role, you will be responsible for building infrastructure as code using Terraform, managing Kubernetes clusters, handling database and streaming data pipelines, creating CICD pipelines, and ensuring system availability and business continuity. You'll work in a 24x7 multi-cloud environment, focusing on scalability, reliability, and high availability. Key responsibilities include:

• Building infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Managing Kubernetes clusters (GCP / AWS / Azure / RKE)
• Handling database (NIFI, Elasticsearch) and streaming data pipelines (Kafka)
• Creating and managing CICD pipelines
• Implementing redundant servers/services for system availability
• Proactive monitoring, diagnosis, and issue resolution
• Capacity planning based on performance and usage stats

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 9+ years of industry experience in managing infrastructure in large enterprises
• 7+ years of Linux administration in a large-scale SaaS environment
• 7+ years maintaining production systems on AWS, OpenStack, Azure, and GCP
• 7+ years' experience managing Kubernetes in large-scale production environments
• Strong familiarity with RDBs and NoSQL databases
• 5+ years using infrastructure as code software (e.g., Terraform)
• 7+ years of experience with continuous integration practices & tools (Jenkins)
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
