Description For System Performance Modeling Engineer

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a System Performance Modeling Engineer to join their infrastructure IP Team. This role involves studying System Performance using cycle-accurate/approximate models and supporting both Infra IP level u-architecture optimizations and System level application performance verification. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of HW u-architecture, particularly in memory systems and interconnects, and be able to identify performance bottlenecks, define experiments, and conduct data-driven performance analyses using simulation.

Key responsibilities include participating in architecture exploration campaigns, analyzing complex datasets to inform next-generation SoC requirements, supporting exploratory methodology projects involving machine learning and data science, and expanding and maintaining innovative modeling frameworks. The role also involves defining new hardware modeling semantics that break from conventional hardware programming languages.

Requirements include a degree in Microelectronics, Computer Science, or a related field, with 2-5 years of experience in SoC modeling and/or software development. Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (C++, Python), understanding of interconnect protocols, and experience in Data Science and Machine Learning are essential. The ideal candidate should also have a robust understanding of computer architecture, memory hierarchy, and bus components micro-architecture.

This challenging position offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies, surrounded by experts and users of Qualcomm's technology worldwide. The role contributes to evaluating the performance of future envisioned hardware architectures and provides key data points to decision-makers. It also involves developing and improving a key architecture modeling platform.

Qualcomm offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 to $162,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including an annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for RSU grants. This position provides an excellent opportunity for career growth and innovation in a leading technology company.
