We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Vice President of Systems and Software Engineering to lead our engineering teams in China. This role will oversee the development and implementation of cutting-edge systems and software solutions across multiple business units, including Handset, Automotive, PC, Modem, XR, and IoT.
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in leading large-scale engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Systems and Software teams in China, comprising over 2200 employees and contractors across multiple sites (Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Xi'an, and Chengdu).
- Serve as the site manager for Shanghai, ensuring smooth operations and effective collaboration.
- Develop and execute actionable engineering strategies based on detailed data analysis.
- Foster strong inter-personal relationships and work effectively across organizations and senior executives.
- Ensure alignment with international teams, including those in the USA and India.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
- Lead talent development programs to nurture and grow engineering talent within the organization.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of the China Auto, smartphone, and smart devices customer and technology ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including open-source development.
- Excellent English written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, and a working level of Mandarin proficiency.
- Proven ability to analyze and distill detailed data into actionable engineering strategies.
- Experience managing large, distributed engineering teams and working across different geographies.
