Description For Windows Power and Performance Engineer, Senior Staff

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Windows Power/Performance Developer to join their team in a Senior Staff role. This position represents an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Windows on Snapdragon optimization.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in software optimization across multiple layers including Windows Operating System, Kernel, Compiler, Drivers, Assembly Language, CPU microarchitecture, and SoC/Memory/Bus architecture. This role is critical in delivering best-in-class software performance for next-generation Windows on Snapdragon desktop devices.

As a Windows Performance Developer, you'll take ownership of analyzing complex system-level performance aspects and developing solutions that optimize performance while maintaining power efficiency. You'll work closely with software architects, OS and kernel developers, CPU architects, and SOC architects to define and implement performance optimization strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in-depth analysis of software benchmarks and applications to identify optimization opportunities
  • Implement sophisticated software optimizations to meet performance criteria
  • Develop and enhance analysis tools and instrumentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks
  • Solve complex problems affecting multiple product areas
  • Serve as technical lead on critical projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 6+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Java, Python
  • Deep understanding of ARM architecture
  • Expertise in performance characterization and optimization
  • Ability to debug complex multi-layer systems
