WLAN test-Principal Engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Principal WLAN Test Engineer to join their System Test team in Chennai. This role focuses on defining and implementing testing strategies for WiFi & Networking access points, including development of test plans, tools, and automation frameworks for validating WiFi routers. The position requires extensive collaboration with various internal teams across multiple engineering disciplines.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in WiFi/Networking Test and automation, with deep expertise in WLAN/networking and testing of layer-2 to layer 7 protocols. They will lead a small team of engineers, serving as a mentor while working on complex features and systems testing strategies.

Key responsibilities include developing test plans, managing infrastructure, conducting log analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role demands strong technical skills in Python and Linux, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
