Description For XR Project Engineering

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced XR Project Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge VR/MR/AR chipsets. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software engineering, requiring deep expertise in semiconductor product development and technical leadership. As a Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving state-of-the-art chipset development from concept through commercialization, working with various engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of hardware, software, test, documentation, and tools.

The position offers an opportunity to work with executive leadership in a large matrixed organization, managing complex projects that balance performance KPIs with cost considerations. You'll leverage expert knowledge of XR chipsets, including Application Processors, PMICs, Connectivity chips, Co-processors, Modems, and RF components, to ensure optimal system integration and performance.

Responsibilities For XR Project Engineering

  • Lead XR chipset development from concept to commercialization
  • Drive resolution of engineering issues across subsystems and components
  • Outline schedules, costs, requirements, and KPIs
  • Drive verification for component and chipset KPIs
  • Direct teams in hardware, software, and system-level testing
  • Write and review technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Requirements For XR Project Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years experience, OR
  • Master's degree and 7+ years experience, OR
  • PhD and 6+ years experience
  • 8+ years of experience in semiconductor product development
  • 5+ years in a technical leadership role
  • Experience with XR chipsets and components
  • Strong technical documentation skills
