As a Systems Engineer I at Qualtrics, you'll be part of the Engineering Visibility (EngVis) team, whose goal is to empower all other teams to deliver top-notch, highly reliable products that our customers love. You'll be at the forefront of modern engineering, providing invaluable expertise that helps minimize observability costs and maximizes reliability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing our observability platform, ensuring reliable systems monitoring and alerting
  • Developing and maintaining secure, high performing, scalable and cost-effective systems
  • Being involved in architectural design decisions and driving system improvements
  • Ensuring on-time delivery of projects and creation of automated solutions for issue resolution
  • Overseeing platform lifecycle, documenting systems and participating in technical analysis
  • Addressing complex problem-solving, including system feature design and complexity mitigation
  • Monitoring operational metrics and assisting teams in resolving issues during incidents
  • Collaborating across engineering teams to resolve issues and foster relationships
  • Proactively addressing platform and infrastructure gaps by gathering feedback and setting standards
  • Participating in on-call rotation and managing operational needs
  • Guiding and driving improvements across multiple teams within the organization

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go or Java
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, navigate through unfamiliar code, and quickly learn new technologies
  • Experience with Linux OS and its administration
  • Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and across various teams
