Quandela, a pioneering European startup in photonic quantum computing, is seeking an Applications Development Engineer intern to join their innovative team. The company specializes in developing both software and hardware solutions for quantum applications, offering services from single photon sources to quantum algorithms and cloud computing solutions.
The role sits at the intersection of industry use-cases, quantum computing algorithms, and product integration. You'll be part of the Applications Team, whose mission is to build trust in photonic quantum applications for real-world problems through cutting-edge algorithm design and enhancement.
The internship focuses on tackling one of science's most challenging problems: solving partial differential equations (DEs) efficiently. Current numerical resolution methods, primarily based on Finite-Difference Methods, face scaling limitations. Your work will specifically target the development and improvement of variational quantum algorithms for differential equations, with the ultimate goal of solving a 1D Flame model using photonic quantum computing.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a diverse, international environment, collaborating with researchers and experts worldwide. You'll be at the forefront of quantum computing applications, working with state-of-the-art technology and contributing to groundbreaking solutions in computational science.
The ideal candidate will bring strong academic credentials in mathematics, quantum information science, or physics, combined with practical programming skills in Python and experience with quantum algorithms. You'll be joining a positive, dynamic team environment that values innovation and collaboration, with the chance to make significant contributions to the field of quantum computing.
