Senior Data Engineer

Quantexa is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Delivery team. The role involves contextualizing data and implementing Quantexa's innovative technology across various domains including banking, insurance, government, and healthcare. As a senior data engineer, you'll be responsible for building end-to-end data pipelines using Quantexa's award-winning software, configuring decision-making platforms to detect key insights, and solving complex business problems in areas such as fraud, financial crime, data management, risk, and customer intelligence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Writing defensive, fault-tolerant, and efficient code for production-level data processing systems
• Configuring and deploying Quantexa software using tools like Spark, Hadoop, Scala, and Elasticsearch on both private and public virtual clouds
• Serving as a trusted source of knowledge for clients and articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Collaborating with solution architects and R&D engineers to champion solutions for complex big data challenges
• Promoting knowledge sharing and ensuring best practices are followed

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least three years of industry experience in a data engineering role (preferably four years in the software industry)
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, Python, or a related data engineering programming language
• Expertise in building and deploying production-level data processing batch systems
• Experience with modern development tools (e.g., Git, Gradle, Nexus) and DevOps technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Docker)
• Strong technical communication skills and experience working in dynamic client environments
• Knowledge of testing libraries and different test types
