Rackspace Technology is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to join their team. The role of a GCP Data Engineer at Rackspace involves working directly with customers and the team to enable innovation through continuous, hands-on deployment across technology stacks. You will be responsible for building data pipelines, developing data engineering code, and writing complex data queries and algorithms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building complex ETL code
- Developing complex SQL queries using various databases
- Working on Data and Analytics Tools in the Cloud
- Developing code using Python, Scala, R languages
- Working with technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.
- Building complex Data Engineering workflows
- Creating complex data solutions and data pipelines
- Establishing credibility and building impactful relationships with customers
- Capturing and sharing industry best practices
- Attending and presenting at Industry Events
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of design & implementation experience with distributed applications
- 2+ years of experience in database architecture and data pipeline development
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ELT, ETL processes, data lakes, and data warehousing concepts
- Proficiency with GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GCS, Composer, Dataproc, and Cloud Functions
- Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
- Experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to modern technologies and learn quickly

Requirements For GCP Data Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years design & implementation experience with distributed applications
- 2+ years of experience in database architecture and data pipeline development
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ELT, ETL processes, data lakes, and data warehousing concepts

- Excellent communication skills

- Certification in GCP (e.g., Professional Data Engineer) is preferred
