Description For Information Security Engineer II (Night shift)

Rackspace is seeking an Information Security Engineer II for their night shift position to join their Private Cloud Delivery team. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing security across their hosting-based environment. The position combines hands-on technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring a strong foundation in security tools and practices.

The role involves working with cutting-edge security technologies including Web Application Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, and encryption solutions. You'll be responsible for conducting security assessments, providing technical consultations, and ensuring the highest levels of security for Rackspace's cloud products. The position emphasizes the importance of staying current with cybersecurity trends and news.

As an Information Security Engineer, you'll collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to address security vulnerabilities and maintain robust security systems. The role requires expertise in various security tools and technologies, from network security to database encryption. Responsibilities For Information Security Engineer II (Night shift)

  • Configure, improve, modify, and evaluate security tools and services in hosting-based environment
  • Conduct technology and system assessments
  • Provide technical consultation to customers
  • Partner with teams and third-party vendors to resolve security vulnerabilities
  • Configure and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  • Manage network security (IDS/IPS)
  • Handle database encryption and key management
  • Configure and maintain Anti-Virus and File Integrity Monitoring (FIM)
  • Execute device firmware upgrades across various platforms
  • Maintain vendor related roadmaps and scheduled releases

Requirements For Information Security Engineer II (Night shift)

Linux
  • Intermediate knowledge of security concepts, principals and technologies
  • Experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration and analysis
  • Knowledge of common web security vulnerabilities and remediation
  • Experience with Log Management tools (Alert Logic)
  • Configuration skills for Firewall appliances (Cisco ASA/ASA-X/Firepower, Juniper SRX)
  • Experience with Load Balancers appliances (F5 LTM, Citrix Netscaler)
  • Knowledge of IPSEC and SSL VPN technologies
  • Network troubleshooting skills using packet capture tools
  • Understanding of hosting environment services and protocols
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (All OSI Layers)
  • Windows and Linux operating system administration skills
  • Understanding of public cloud security architectures and best practices
