Rackspace is seeking a Senior L3 Support Engineer to serve as the technical authority for Windows and Linux systems on AWS. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on advanced cloud architecture, security, and automation. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while leading critical infrastructure initiatives and mentoring technical teams. The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and systems engineering, with expertise in AWS, Windows/Linux administration, and modern DevOps practices. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from major Indian tech hubs while contributing to enterprise-scale cloud solutions. Responsibilities For L3 Support Engineer (Windows/Linux on AWS)
- Design, implement, and optimize cloud architectures for Windows and Linux VMs in AWS
- Act as final escalation point for critical incidents
- Oversee advanced maintenance of Windows and Linux systems in AWS
- Implement advanced security measures and conduct security audits
- Automate infrastructure scaling, patching, and monitoring workflows
- Design and test failover strategies and disaster recovery mechanisms
- Provide technical guidance to L1 and L2 engineers
- Implement resource tagging strategies and manage costs
- Partner with stakeholders and lead migration/modernization projects
Requirements For L3 Support Engineer (Windows/Linux on AWS)
- Expert-level mastery of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Deep expertise in OS patching strategies and automation frameworks
- Comprehensive understanding of AWS core services
- Strong proficiency in AWS automation and scripting
- Advanced knowledge of AWS security best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (Preferred)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer or LPIC-2/3 (Preferred)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
