Responsibilities For Network Security Engineer I

  • Provide support to project managers on security/network deployments
  • Document planned and unplanned network events in tracking systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network events
  • Implementation of Gateway, Edge firewall and Load Balancers
  • Lead the Netsec team in the absence of immediate manager
  • Take ownership of customer requests and issues through resolution
  • Participate and provide input to Root Cause Analysis
  • Act as primary interface for clients on basic to intermediate projects
  • Create and maintain fanatical support experience for customers

Requirements For Network Security Engineer I

Linux
  • 2-4 years of recent network security experience with hands-on expertise in CLI and GUI mode
  • Experience with network platforms (Cisco, ASR, Nexus, Arista)
  • Knowledge of Layer 2 and 3 protocols (STP, HSRP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP)
  • Experience with Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Firepower, Juniper)
  • Understanding of network packet analysis and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of VPNs implementation and management
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix OS
  • CCNP or CCNA Security certifications desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
