Rackspace is seeking a VMWare Cloud Engineer II to join their team in Gurgaon, India. This role focuses on managing and implementing virtual infrastructure solutions using VMware technologies. The position requires a mix of technical expertise in cloud technologies and customer service skills to deliver their signature 'Fanatical Support' experience. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, including ESXi, vCenter, and various storage solutions, combined with the ability to lead teams and manage client relationships. Responsibilities For VMWare Cloud Engineer II
- Work on infrastructure tasks to plan, implement, and support virtual infrastructures
- Stay current with emerging technologies
- Lead the VMware team in absence of immediate frontline manager
- Implement enterprise-class solutions using Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware technologies
- Ensure control, integrity, and accessibility of VMware environment
- Perform regular system component checks and apply corrective actions
- Develop internal wikis and procedures
- Interface between client and project manager for basic to intermediate projects
- Gather data for reporting and analysis
- Create Fanatical Support experience by serving customers
Requirements For VMWare Cloud Engineer II
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related field (or 5+ years additional experience)
- 4-5+ years of technical engineering and administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ESXi, VCenter, Zerto, SRM
- Intermediate knowledge in vSAN, NSX, Windows and Linux
- Understanding of storage best practices for SAN and NAS
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft platforms including IIS and SQL Server
- Basic network administration skills
- Basic working knowledge of fiber channel SANS and NFS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
