Description For Windows Systems Engineer II

Rackspace is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer II to join their Private Cloud Delivery team in Gurgaon, India. This role focuses on providing exceptional technical support and implementation services for Windows-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Windows Server, active directory, networking, and various storage solutions. They will be responsible for delivering Fanatical Support to customers while maintaining high technical standards and mentoring team members.

The position requires a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills, as you'll be working directly with clients to provide solutions and support. You'll be handling complex Windows environments, including cluster builds, SQL configurations, and various infrastructure components. The role offers opportunities for growth and leadership, as you'll be expected to lead the team in the absence of managers and mentor other team members.

Responsibilities For Windows Systems Engineer II

  • Provide technical implementation support
  • Deliver Fanatical Support experience to customers
  • Exercise judgment in decision-making for customer support
  • Create technical documentation
  • Lead the IE team in the absence of immediate frontline manager
  • Mentor and assist Rackers across the OS Function
  • Handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Apply fundamental knowledge to solve complex customer issues

Requirements For Windows Systems Engineer II

  • Microsoft Windows Server Knowledge (All Versions)
  • Experience with Windows OS, IIS, FTP, SQL configuration and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Hardware, Software, DNS, RAID, VMWare, PowerShell, and firmware upgrade
  • Knowledge of Active directory configuration, FSMO Roles
  • Knowledge of ILO/IDRAC Management and Physical servers
  • Understanding of Networking, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPN, and SSL technologies
  • Experience with Windows Cluster Builds (File and SQL, Active/Active and Active/Passive)
  • MSSQL Installation/Configuration experience
  • Knowledge of storage solutions (NAS, SAN, DAS)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
