Chief Data Engineer

Raft (https://TeamRaft.com) is seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join their passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. As a Chief Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of Raft's Data Platform, leading multiple software teams through complex production at an enormous scale. Raft is building a best-of-breed Data Platform central to implementing Data Fabric and Data Mesh architectures, using OSS solutions with added security for DoD Enterprise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading teams and making architectural decisions
• Advocating with customers and understanding mission needs
• Building product roadmaps
• Navigating production at an enormous scale

Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience in Data Engineering
• 10+ years of technical leadership experience
• Proficiency in languages like Java, Python, or GoLang
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Ansible, Terraform)
• DoD Ecosystem experience as a leader and thought leader
• Familiarity with data tools like DBT, Pinot, Trino, Kafka, DeltaLake
• Experience with Knowledge Graphs, Graph Databases, and Ontologies
• Product-level thinking and customer collaboration skills
• Leadership of 12+ engineers
• Master's or higher in Computer Science / Engineering / Physics / Mathematics
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days

This U.S.-based position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. The role is located in Tampa, FL, with relocation assistance provided. It may require up to 10% travel.
